My summer break is winding down, but my reading is really amping up. I read four books last week! I am 4 books away from 50 for the summer.
My first read was the new Jojo Moyes, One Plus One. I wanted yo finish this before heading out of town in the middle of the week. The story was so good that my mission was accomplished. This was only my second Moyes book, but I plan to read more.
Next up was Absolutely Almost by Lisa Graff. I. Loved. This. Book. It would pair wonderfully with Wonder. I am starting a book club for students this year and I can’t wait to read this with the kids.
I also read White Fur Flying by Patricia MacLachlan. This is a KBA selection for 3-5 and offers great discussions for students, especially about careers with animals.
I finished Comics Squad: Recess yesterday. My students will go nuts over this one. Babymouse and Lunch Lady together in one book? Yes, please! The Raina Telgemeier story will tide them over until I can read Sisters and start selling that one.
This is my last week of break, so I’ll be finishing projects (like cleaning the basement) and spending time with my family. But that won’t slow me down! The more I read, the more I can share with my students!
Make it a great week!
